Chess Club Near Me: Find the Right Chess Program for Your Child
The school year is almost here, and many families are looking for meaningful after-school activities. If your child has shown an interest in chess, you may be asking, “Is there a chess club near me?” For families in the Greater Boston area, Future Masters Chess Academy offers in-person programs in Ashland and Burlington, along with a virtual option for students who cannot get to one of our locations.
Convenient Locations
We currently serve families from two main locations:
- Ashland, MA: 200 Homer Avenue, serving the MetroWest area
- Burlington, MA: 123 Muller Road, serving families north and northwest of Boston
- Online: A virtual chess option for students who live farther away or need a more flexible format
Some students travel to us from as far as Worcester and New Hampshire because quality chess programs can be difficult to find. Our goal is to make chess instruction more accessible, whether families join us in person or online.
Why Chess Is Growing
Chess is one of the fastest-growing after-school activities in the country. It captures children’s imagination, challenges their minds, and gives them a fun way to build focus, patience, planning, and problem-solving skills. Children as young as three can become fascinated by the game, and many begin surprising their parents with how quickly they learn.
While some children teach themselves the basics, chess is a deep and complicated game. Every child benefits from clear direction, encouragement, and a class level that matches their experience. That is why Future Masters Chess Academy offers five levels of instruction.
Programs for Every Level
- Chess for Tots: Designed for children ages 3 to 5. Students become the chess pieces, wear a chess hat for the piece of the day, and learn through movement, play, and imagination.
- Fundamentals: A great fit for children who understand how the pieces move and are just getting started. This class combines fun with the core fundamentals of chess.
- Emerging Chess: Ideal for students who have been playing for a couple of years or have had some mentoring and are ready to grow in the game.
- Next Level: Built for students who show strong talent, make fast progress, and are ready for more advanced instruction.
- Private Class: For serious tournament players, including students who reach a rating of 1400 or higher.

Our Ashland Chess Club
Our Ashland location is our home base, with more than 2,000 square feet of dedicated chess space. The facility offers free parking, comfortable amenities for parents who want to stay during lessons, and large rooms that allow us to teach multiple levels at the same time.
For our youngest students, the Chess for Tots class allows parents to remain in the room. A staff member is available at the front desk to answer questions, multiple coaches support the children, and monitors allow parents to see their children while they are learning in another room.
